About simplifyMD

Founded in 2006, simplifyMD provides an affordable method for physician practices to replace paper medical charts and obtain many of the benefits associated with more cumbersome, complex, and costly EMR systems. Our innovative approach melds powerful and affordable hardware with advanced document management technology to address the real needs of the physician practice. Headquartered in Atlanta, simplifyMD is committed to developing and delivering methods for independent medical practices to concretely reduce costs, increase revenues, improve care, and increase patient satisfaction.

Executive Team

Jeff Lamkin, Chief Executive Officer

Among other achievements over his fifteen year tenure in the healthcare and marketing industry, Jeff was the founding President and CEO of Impact Group. Under his leadership, in less than 4 years, the firm grew to over 1,100 employees to eventually become a division of Euro RSCG Worldwide. At simplifyMD he is now focusing his talents and energies to help physicians make profit-enhancing, realistic business decisions for their practices. Jeff is a graduate of Towson University in Maryland.

Matt Ethington, President

With over a decade of high tech and healthcare technology experience, Matt is a 2006 TEPR award winning presenter, and a 2005 faculty member of the Medical Records Institute. Having worked with hundreds of physicians on dozens of technology implementations, he brings the hands-on know-how and experience to ensure simplifyMD's clients realize consistent, concrete, and measurable benefits. Matt is a graduate of the University of Nebraska.

Shahid Shah, Chief Technology Officer

Shahid has served as a health IT advisor to programs within the National Institutes of Health, CTO of Cardinal Health's CTS unit, Chief Systems Architect for the American Red Cross, and Senior Vice President of Healthcare Technology at COMSYS. In addition to his executive role at simplifyMD, Shahid serves as an on-going consultant to the Executive Office of the President (White House) and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB). Shahid earned his Master's Degree in Technology Management from the University of Maryland and his Computer Science Bachelors Degree from Penn State University

Advisory team

Dr. Richard Olson

Dr. Richard Olson obtained his M.D. from Duke and completed surgery residency at Grady Memorial Hospital and Emory University Hospitals in Atlanta. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and has practiced general surgery in Gainesville, Georgia since 2001. He has participated in hospital committees steering information technology and medical records for 15 years, and is a current student of medical informatics in the AMIA 10x10 program.

Dr. Alan Einstein

Dr. Alan D. Einstein serves Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue on the Commission for Newborn Umbilical Cord Blood Research and Medical Treatment. He is the President and CEO of Cord Blood Solutions, LLC, and President of Alpharetta Medical Associates, PC. He received his D.O. from University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences College of Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines University and holds the distinction of being the first D.O. accepted for residency at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine/Sinai Hospital.
